Kids will learn skills and behaviors to foster a good relationship with money, compare how education connects to potential career income, explore how they can turn passion into cash at their current age, walk through the process of creating their own business and prepare them to talk to clients and sell.
 
All concepts will be taught through play and hands-on activities.
  

WHY Was This Program Created?

This program was born when my older son Ian came to me and said “Mom, I want to make money like you! How do I do that?” . . . after I recovered from the surprise, I asked him if he wanted to join me at my next business fair and he was on board. At his age (9 years-old) I knew that I needed to keep things simple and fun, so he started selling his favorite cookies, and after ending the day with a few hundred dollars in his pocket, he was hooked!. . . “when is the next event?”, he asked.
 
I took that interest further to push him to think beyond cookies, and we incorporated his passion for animals to create a business with a purpose and with a bigger mission in mind. Ian is now 12 years old and he is getting into his third business, which will support his dream of becoming a professional driver. A few months ago my younger son Alec, who is 8 years old, came to me and told me: “mom, I want to make money like Ian”. So here we go again! . . His personality is more shy, so I came up with the idea of teaching him the same process with other kids. In the group setting he can develop his business idea, have the opportunity to sell to real clients and be surrounded by other kids doing the same thing. This setting provides the safety and comfortable environment that he needs.
 
So this is how Money SMART Kid through Entrepreneurship was born!

1. Your kid will have the option to sell to real clients as part of the Kid’s Entrepreneurship tent within the Hispanic Cultural Festival taking place October 14th and 15th, 2023 in Ferndale, MI

 

2. Zoom sessions to review the kids’ readiness for the Festival, prior to the event, to make sure they are ready for the big day!

WHY is This Program Different?

Most programs currently offered are either online or through the schools (in some states) and the program is based on following a business plan. If you have kids, you already know that telling them that they will learn how to do a business plan will probably have them rolling eyes and saying “no thank you” (that would be the case of my kids for sure) and in a world where they are invaded by screen time, I want to offer my kids the opportunity to interact with people and clients in person.
 
I also want this to be way more than selling a product or service. . .this is about teaching important behaviors about money and the possibilities of turning kids into independent adults, and financial independence is a key whether we like it or not. The younger we expose them to these behaviors, the more success they will have when they are thrown into real life as adults.
 
How many young adults are being asked to choose a career and they have no idea what they want to do? Or they are put into entry levels jobs to “learn to work” only to get used to a job from 8am to 5pm with a limited hourly pay? Or those who are suddenly given a credit card without having a clue how to manage their finances because they were never taught how to deal with money and what to look forward to?.
 
I am not saying that your kid will learn all this in 2 days, what I am saying is that this program will open their minds to more possibilities than what they are being directed to do. Exposing kids to these important behaviors before the age of 13 will have more impact than any other classes taken while adults (when we are full of fear and biased about what we think we are capable of.)

This Program is NOT for . . .

* Parents who are not willing to be involved in the creative process of building a business with their kids.

* Children who are unable to follow instructions OR that require a more 1on1 guidance.

* Children unable to do basic addition / subtraction math.

My PROMISE

As a fellow parent, I know how much you care about the future of your child. A future that sometimes feels uncertain after what they went through during the pandemic and for how different these times are compared to when we were children ourselves.
 
I am doing this program to have my own kids gone through this process, and if you choose to enroll yours, they will be alongside my own kids. I am putting my very best knowledge in business learned in more than 20 years and combining them with my Montessori and Money Coaching knowledge to bring all these concepts in what I believe is best for the kids, our future leaders.
 
I promise to give my best in helping them find the spark that can get them started in a path of possibility and fulfillment.
